Eric Church is just one of the hundreds of artists forced off the road in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic and like other artists, he misses playing shows and getting to travel town-to-town to do what was he “born to do” and that is play music for the Church Choir.

And although he wasn’t able to tour since early Spring of 2020, he says that he is “hopeful and quite confident” that he will be back on the road in 2021.

The country superstar says first and foremost, he is looking forward to getting around the corner from this awful virus that has taken over most of the world and return to some kind of a normalcy.

“I think, for me, the thing I’m looking forward to most next year is getting around the corner from this virus and getting some kind of normalcy,” Church said. “I’m confident that next year is when we’ll finally put this in the rearview at some point in time.”

He continued to explain that although normalcy may not come till after the vaccine can take down cases between January and May, he hopes to return to the stage in late summer or fall, but he says he is certain that he and other artists will return to the stage during the fourth quarter of the year.

“We’re all looking for a vaccine early in the year and the more we can take the cases down between January and May,” Church explained. “I think the higher likelihood that we’ll be on a stage somewhere in the fall, late summer/fall, and then certainly into the fourth quarter. So, I’m looking forward to that.”

Church adds that he knows there may be some live stuff earlier in the year but not at the max capacity, but he looks “forward to being back at capacity and being, seeing people grouped up and arms around each other’s shoulders.” He also added that he really misses seeing that as well as misses playing, misses the camaraderie and going town-to-town and playing shows.

The singer said that playing live shows is just what he was “born to do” and that he misses “seeing the fans.” He is “hopeful and quite confident that next year will be the year” that they will be able to return to doing that and hopefully more and more as we go.

Church released several new songs from forthcoming project that include his current single “Hell Of A View” and current GRAMMY-nominated track “Stick That In Your Country Song,” as well as “Bad Mother Trucker,” “Crazyland,” “Through My Ray-Bans” and “Doing Life With Me.” In addition to the official releases, Church has also shared previews of unreleased music with performances on ACM Presents: Our Country (“Never Break Heart”) and Stagecouch (“Jenny”) as fans eagerly await news of a forthcoming project.
