Viewers have the opportunity to ring in the new year with some of entertainment’s biggest names with the return of CBS’ New Year’s Eve special, New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.
Hosted by country megastars Elle King and Jimmie Allen alongside Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith, the celebration is set to air live from Nashville on Saturday, December 31 at 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. The highly anticipated event is also available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
The fiery “Try Jesus” singer seemingly can’t wait to take the New Year’s Eve bash by storm as one of the hosts.
“Time to party like it’s 2023 🤑,” King captioned an Instagram post of the announcement. Fans are confident in King’s ability to bring her spunk to the jam-packed event, as users commented “This WILL be a party 🎉” and “Good choice.”
“When I got the call to host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, I was super excited and started looking forward to it right then,” shared Allen. “I was part of the show last year as a performer, so being able to co-host it this year with Elle King & Rachel Smith and see all the great performances that are lined up — it’s going to be awesome.”
He continued, “Hosting is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and to do it on CBS is a big deal. I get to represent not only Nashville and country music but my home state of Delaware — primetime television on New Year’s Eve! Let’s bring this new year in right!”
“New Year’s Eve has always been one of my favorite nights to celebrate because we get to reflect on the year we’ve had while getting a fresh start,” added King. “Nashville has been so amazing and welcoming to me this year and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. I am so excited to be hosting the festivities live from Music City!”

Viewers can look forward to an unforgettable night packed with nearly 50 high-energy performances from the star-studded lineup that includes country music’s hottest acts such as Brooks & Dunn, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band and many more.
The five-hour live event will enter various time zones, yet the traditional countdown will be at midnight, Eastern Time. To ring in the new year, Nashville will continue its tradition of the renowned music note drop, accompanied by fireworks at midnight, Central Time.
