Drew Parker is gearing up to release a duet with his musical hero, Randy Travis.
The rising country star shared a photo to Instagram on Wednesday (Nov. 24), announcing a forthcoming new duet with country icon, Randy Travis. The photo featured Parker seated on a couch with an acoustic guitar beside Travis in front of a Christmas tree, which was presumably captured in Travis’ home.
The duet will come in the form of a new rendition of the holiday classic, “There’s A New Kid In Town.”
“‘There’s A New Kid In Town’ with one of my heroes @therandytravis available Friday!” Parker captioned the photo.
The news comes just weeks after Travis released a remastered version of his classic holiday album, An Old Time Christmas. The project featured 13-tracks, including its ten previously released tracks as well as three new songs ‘From The Vault,’ which included Travis’ version of “There’s A New Kid In Town.”
“We’re looking for the King / The new Messiah / We’re following the star / Shining brighter / Old man won’t you help us if you can / He shook his head / But he pointed his hand,” Travis sings during the first verse of the song.

The song, co-written by Michael Johnson and the late Keith Whitley in the 1980s, had several renditions shared from a variety of singers over the years. Artists such as Whitley, Alan Jackson, George Strait and Blake Shelton are among dozens of singers who shared their own version of the popular Christmas tune.
