Dolly Parton Launches Doggy Parton Pet Apparel Line: “My Love For Pets Is Stronger Than Ever”

Dolly Parton has an exciting new venture.

The “Jolene” singer announced she’s launching a line of dog apparel, toys, and more Wednesday (Aug. 31). The line is called “Doggy Parton” and Parton will be teaming up with SportPet Designs on her latest project.

The line draws its inspiration from Parton’s own style featuring red gingham overalls, a pink cowgirl hat with a tiara, a collared blue denim jean jacket, and more. There are also items that pay homage to Parton’s career such as a “In a World Full of Jolenes, Be A Dolly” shirt and a Backwoods Barbie Throwback LP Record plush crinkle dog toy.

The venture is fitting for Parton, who’s an animal lover. Parton is actually a dog godmother to her long-time manager, Danny Nozell’s dog, Billy the Kid, the same release indicated.

In addition, Parton’s new project follows a very important milestone as her very first record was a song called, “Puppy Love.”

“’Puppy Love’ was my very first record and 6 decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever. This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little ‘Dolly’ flair,” she explained.

Parton’s “Doggy Parton” line will initially be available at and Amazon, with additional distributors to be announced later, the press release noted.

Of course, Parton’s dog apparel line isn’t the only project she’s currently got in the works.

Parton will star in Dolly Parton’s Magic Mountain Christmas, a film that has been picked up by NBC. The film also guest stars Jimmy Fallon, Willie Nelson, Jimmie Allen, Zach Williams, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Parton’s goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. The film finds Parton going back to her past to discover the real magic of Christmas that lies in the heart of childhood.

Parton previously launched a special “Drive with Dolly” license plate that benefits her Imagination Library, which offers free books to children five years old and younger. The program has already helped more than 275,000 children.

Parton will give back with the proceeds of her “Doggy Parton” pet apparel line, too. Part of the proceeds will benefit Willa B. Farms, an Old Hickory, Tennessee-based non-profit that serves homeless, neglected, and abused animals, according to its website.
