Demi Lovato revealed that she had 3 strokes and a heart attack following her near-fatal drug overdose in groundbreaking documentary.
On Wednesday (Feb. 17), YouTube shared the trailer for Demi Lovato’s upcoming documentary dubbed Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil. A documentary that details the 28-year-old’s overdose in 2018 and the effects it physically and emotionally brought to her life.
“I was left with brain damage, and I still deal with the effects of that today. I don’t drive a car, because I have blind spots on my vision,” Lovato shared. “And I also for a long time had a really hard time reading. It was a big deal when I was able to read out of a book, which was like two months later because my vision was so blurry.”
According to the trailer’s description, the singer “holds nothing back in this powerful four part documentary series exploring every aspect that led to her nearly fatal overdose in 2018, and her awakenings in the aftermath. Director Michael D. Ratner is granted unprecedented access to the superstar’s personal and musical journey during the most trying time of her life as she unearths her prior traumas and discovers the importance of her physical, emotional, and mental health. Far deeper than an inside look beyond the celebrity surface, this is an intimate portrait of addiction, and the process of healing and empowerment.”
The trailer also features superstars including Elton John, Christina Aguilera and others as well as an exclusive first listen to her brand new song “Dancing With The Devil.”
Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil is set to be released on March 23 via YouTube.
