Demi Lovato, H.E.R. and Brandi Carlile joined forces for a one-of-a-kind tribute to Sir Elton John.

On Thursday, May 27, the star-studded trio honored John during the iHeartRadio Awards, honoring his life, legacy and music.

The medley performance kicked off with H.E.R. performing “Bennie And The Jets” on a red piano and then shredding a silver guitar to finish out the song.  Following H.E.R.’s performance Carlile performed “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” and Lovato stormed the stage in a pair of John’s signature sunglasses to perform his smash hit “I’m Still Standing.” Lovato even let John join in for a quick snippet of the chorus.

The superstar trio’s performance ended with a standing ovation.

 

Additionally, following their tribute performance John received the iHeartRadio Icon award during the show.

The 2021 iHeartRadio Awards also featured performances from The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson.Paak), Dan + Shay, Usher and Doja Cat.

In addition to the performers, the iHeartRadio Awards included a star-studded list of special appearances from LL Cool J, Chris Martin, Lil Nas X, Nelly, Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Lil Jon, Robin Thicke, Joel McHale, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman, Gabby Barrett, Ava Max, Raphael Saadiq, AJR, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, twenty one pilots as well as Megan Thee Stallion.
