Demi Lovato breaks the silence and apologizes to her parents, friends, family, and fans for breaking her sobriety in surprise new single “Sober.” The single talks about her real-life break from being sober after six years abstaining from alcohol.

Lyrics read: “Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober,” she sings in the song, adding: “I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.

Lovato has struggled with addiction and eating disorders, and has been real with her fans by opening up about her journey in her documentary, Simply Complicated which came out with her last album, Tell Me You Love Me.
