Former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth is retiring!
The rock frontman revealed the news during an interview with Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday (Oct. 1).
“I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring,” Roth told the publication on the phone, before adding, “This is the first, and only, official announcement… You’ve got the news. Share it with the world.”
Diamond Dave announced that after the upcoming five concerts at House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Jan. 5 and Jan. 7-8, he is retiring. Roth will play the last concert of his career on January 8, 2022, at the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he will pay tribute to his days in the award-winning rock band, Van Halen.
Roth added, “I’m not going to explain the statement. The explanation is in a safe. These are my last five shows. I’ve given you all I’ve got to give. It’s been an amazing, great run, no regrets, nothing to say about anybody. I’ll miss you all. Stay frosty.”
