Multi-Platinum country star Darius Rucker gives listeners another new hit with redemptive ballad “Ol’ Church Hymn” featuring trio Chapel Hart. Listen to “Ol’ Church Hymn” here.

The duet will be featured on Rucker’s forthcoming album, which will be his first solo album since his 2017 release of When Was the Last Time.

“The moment I heard ‘Ol’ Church Hymn,’ I knew @chapelhartband’s voices had to be on it!!” Rucker captioned an Instagram post.

Co-penned by Rucker, Ben Hayslip, Josh Miller and Greylan James, the stunning collaboration started a year ago, put into motion by an Instagram DM from Rucker to Chapel Hart asking if the trio was interested in working together on a song he had in mind.

“Hey. My guy is gonna get in touch with your manager. Got a song I want y’all to sing on,” Rucker wrote in his DM to Chapel Hart.

“Heyyyy D!!! We are sooo excited to hear it!!! And can’t wait!!!” the trio responded. “Wow you ever have those pinch me moments (and we are sure you have 😁) ??? this is truly one of those! We will make sure your guys gets hooked up with ours! Wow. 🙌 can’t wait to link up 😁 🎶.”

The gospel-inspired track boasts Rucker’s rich baritone vocals, paired with Chapel Hart’s three-part harmony. The joyful chorus professes a born-again love with lyrics “You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn / Found in a book in the back of a pew / Born again love I’m a new person / Hand in the air hallelujah / Amen, Amen, Amen / Amen, Amen, Amen / You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn.”

The track follows another collaboration from the three-time GRAMMY Award winner and Chapel Hart, who came together to offer an electrifying performance of “Something to Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” season finale last month. The Mississippi trio blew the crowd away, standing out in their gold and black western attire and blending a perfect harmony with Rucker. Chapel Hart finished 5th on the 17th season of America’s Got Talent.

“Ol’ Church Hymn” comes on the heels of releases “My Masterpiece” and “Same Beer Different Problem” as Rucker gears up to drop his upcoming solo project.

This past weekend (Sept. 8-9), Rucker took the stage at the inaugural Riverfront Revival festival in his hometown of Charleston, SC with stars including Jimmie Allen, Brothers Osborne, Charley Crockett, SUSTO and more.

As the NFL season has kicked off, Rucker continues to join his passion for music and sports with the return of the NFL x Darius Rucker Collection by Fanatics for the second year. The line now offers 27 items instead of 22, featuring items like t-shirts and outerwear, shorts and pants and more in the 2022 collection.
