Dan + Shay Officially Postpone ‘The (Arena)’ Tour to 2021

Dan + Shay have been forced to join the plethora of artists who are having to postpone their tours to 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In a video clip posted by Dan+Shay on social media on Thursday (June 25), Dan Smyers updated fans on the postponement.

“Just wanted to take a quick second to fill you all in on what is happening with our tour, We know that this is of minor importance relative of what is going on in the world right now but we care about our fans so much, so we wanted to stay as transparent as humanly possible,” explained Smyers as he held back tears. “The reason that we haven’t yet cancelled the dates that are intended to start in July of this summer is that we have been holding on to the hope that something might shift, something might change and that we might actually be able to make these shows happen but unfortunately, As of now, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be possible, out of the respect of the safety of our fans, our band, our crew and everyone involved.”

Smyers continued to elaborate on the situation: “So, what we have decided to do is move the entire tour from 2020 to 2021, and obviously with that comes a lot of logistics and a lot of moving parts and I would be lying if I said I had all of the answers right at this moment but trust me Shay and I are on the phone literally every single day, texting, emailing with our teams trying to get this thing sorted and trying to get the dates set in stone and once we have the dates locked in, you will be the first to hear it from us.”

“I was on the verge of tears making the video and forgot to say this, but: the reason we postponed instead of flat out cancelling is because we know so many of you worked hard to get the seats you wanted, and we didn’t want you to lose them,” Smyers also commented on the duo’s announcement video. “I remember the feeling of falling in love with bands, finding out they were coming to Pittsburgh, and refreshing a ticket link a million times when they went on sale just to get floor seats or close to the stage. we never want to rob anyone of that magic”

The duo will keep fans updated on the newly rescheduled dates once they become available. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they are still valid for the new date when it is announced and if you can no longer make it, refunds will be made available at the point of purchase.
