The Wells Fargo Center has announced the closure of the venue for Thursday (March 12) as well as the postponement of tonight’s scheduled Dan + Shay concert due to coronavirus concerns.
“In light of the ongoing coronavirus situation and out of an abundance of caution, the Wells Fargo Center’s facilities are undergoing an extensive cleaning and sanitization,” the Wells Fargo Center said in a statement. “To facilitate this, non-essential Wells Fargo Center employees are working from home today.”
Dan + Shay posted about the postponement saying: “Philly, we have been looking forward to this show since the day it was announced, and are devastated that it will not be happening tonight. We love this so much that we flew in a day early to enjoy it, but unfortunately we will not be able to perform due to the arena being shut down. Out fans are more important to us than anything, so we immediately confirmed that the show be postponed, and not canceled. The new date is Monday, September 28 at Wells Fargo Center and previously purchased tickets will be honored. It’s a sad day for all of us, but there is peace in knowing the decision was made to protect those who planned to attend the show. We promise to make it extra special when we return. No decisions on events taking place at the Wells Fargo Center beyond Thursday (March 12), It is unclear when the venue will re-open.
Thursday’s Dan + Shay concert is postponed till September 28th, Tickets will be honored for the new date or if fans chose to, will be refunded at the point of purchase.
