Dan + Shay shared a message of gratitude to country radio after earning their eighth career and fifth consecutive No. 1 single with “I Should Probably Go To Bed.”

“Dear country radio, words cannot even come close to expressing the amount of gratitude we have for you. to see “i should probably go to bed” officially hit #1 on the chart this week is truly one of the greatest moments of our career,” the GRAMMY-winning country duo said in a message.

The duo continued, “It’s been an emotional rollercoaster not being able to feel the rush of performing every night, so this milestone is another reminder that people are out there championing us. we made this song at home during quarantine, and poured every bit of our hearts and souls into it, so watching it connect has been absolutely incredible. huge thanks to every station that played it. you continue to change our lives in more ways than you’ll ever know. to our fans, thank you for always being in our corner, no matter what. you inspire us to push ourselves creatively to be the best we can possibly be, and without you, we would have none of this. wish we could hug every single one of you in person right now, but just know that we’re sending so much virtual love into the universe. we’re so glad you exist.”

The smash hit has surpassed one million track equivalents and is on its way to more than 200 million global streams.

Named to Billboard’s all-genre Top 50 Best Songs of the Year list, “I Should Probably Go To Bed” was produced by the duo’s Smyers and co-written alongside bandmate Shay Mooney. It reached No. 1 on the Country Digital Songs Sales chart upon release and earned their highest first-week equivalents for a duo-only release. The song made its TV debut on the 55th ACM Awards (WATCH HERE), with the cinematic music video taking home the CMT Music Award for Duo Video of the Year (WATCH HERE).

“I Should Probably Go To Bed” follows the massively successful No.1 single “10,000 Hours” with superstar Justin Bieber. The worldwide smash has earned more than 1.4 billion global streams and holds the record for the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history. It was the first song by a country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5 and spent 21 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs (fifth longest run in chart history). “10,000 Hours” has earned several accolades including Top Country Song (Billboard Music Awards), Best Lyrics (iHeartRadio Music Awards) and Favorite Song – Country and Collaboration of the Year at the American Music Awards, making Dan + Shay the first ever country artists to take home the all-genre Collaboration title.
