Dan + Shay revealed that they have hundreds of unreleased demos.
In a recently interview on The Bobby Bones Show, the superstar country duo detailed what they have been up lately.
Dan Smyers says he has been tinkering with new music “at all times” or “editing” videos or creating content for their social media, while Shay Mooney shared that he and his family have moved into their new home, which he dubbed his “forever home.”
Bones asked the duo if they were to die in a plane crash or something, “do you guys have a lot of unreleased material that could keep Dan + Shay going for a long time that’s already produced?”
“There’s one person, I think, who has the Dropbox link to all of our session files and all of our demos and stuff, we’re are pretty precious and protective about what gets out there,” Smyers explained. “I don’t know if that happened, I’d have to have somebody, that’s a good call, I’m going to have to make a note of that today to like figure out what should be released, what shouldn’t be released and what should be pitched here. What was the dream scenario, what’s the song that happens immediately after cause that’s going to be the one, it’s gotta be right.”
Mooney then explained that Bones question is going to make Smyers so paranoid cause he’s very protective of their unreleased music but elaborated that if they were ever going down in a plane crash he thinks Smyers would break the laptop storing the music as their demos are on lockdown and will never be heard unless they decide to release them.
“Bobby, you absolutely ruined Dan now, now he’s going to be very paranoid about that, that we’re gonna die,” Mooney said. “He’s going to work on our next seventeen albums for the next year. Dan is so protective with that stuff cause like we have a lot of music and i’m talking like hundreds of songs but not a lot of them are produced, they’re just demos but with that being said, if they are going to be released. I think if we were going down in a plane crash, Dan would break the laptop like 100%.”
