The Coachella Valley Music And Arts and Stagecoach Country Music Festivals have officially been cancelled for 2021.
In a tweet shared on Friday (Jan. 29) by the public health officer for Riverside County, Dr. Cameron Kaiser announced that “due to the pandemic,” he has signed “a public health order cancelling Coachella Valley Music And Arts, Stagecoach Country Music Festivals planned for April 2021.”
“This order is issued as a result of the worldwide epidemic of COVID-19 disease, also known as “novel coronavirus,” which has infected at least 100,418,923 individuals worldwide in 192 countries and is implicated in over 2,161,547 worldwide deaths as of the date of this Order,” the Order the reads. “Riverside County has 266,849 confirmed cases and 2,970 deaths.”
It is currently unknown if new dates for the festivals will be announced. The original dates for the events were supposed to be April 9-11 and April 16-18.

This marks the third postponement of the events due to the ongoing global health crisis.
