Chris Lane brought his highly successful, sold out debut headlining tour with the Laps Around The Sun Tour to Philadelphia’s Theatre Of The Living Arts on Saturday (Dec. 15) evening with special guests internet sensation, Mason Ramsey and American Idol finalist, Gabby Barrett. Lane currently touring in support of his latest album, Laps Around The Sun, which includes his latest anthemic single “I Don’t Know About You” and his first Platinum Single “Take Back Home Girl.” Whilst Ramsey is touring in support of his debut EP, Famous, after taking the internet by storm as the viral ‘Walmart Yodel Boy’ singing Hank Williams Jr’s “Lovesick Blues.”

Launching the the Laps Around The Sun Tour in Philly was 2018 Pennsylvania native and American Idol finalist, Gabby Barrett who shocking the crowd with her impeccable vocal range covering some smash hit songs like Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” Maren Morris’ “My Church” and getting festive by flawlessly singing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Joining Barrett on stage was her boyfriend and fellow Season 16 American Idol finalist, Kade Foehner, who played guitar for her as well as sung a duet with her for their perfect rendition of INXS’s “Never Tear Us Apart.” Fans really enjoyed Barretts set, and we can definitely see her conquering her own headline tours in no time with the pipes she has on her powering through Carrie Underwood and Mariah Carey’s high notes on covers of their songs which was mindblowing to see and hear live as they are both powerhouse vocal forces to be reckoned with by Barrett nailed the covers sounding identical if not better in her own perfect way.

The crowd eagerly anticipating the arrival of the interview phenomenon, Mason Ramsey otherwise known as the viral ‘Walmart Yodel Boy’ who yodeled Hank Williams Jr. songs in Walmarts in his hometown which took the internet by storm with millions taking notice to his amazing vocals at his very young age as well as his love for legendary country music skyrocketing him to incredible amounts of fame. Ramsey had quite the stage presence, interacting with the crowd very well asking for their participation even amping up the crowd to get louder when they began to chant his name loudly in the midst of his set and also dancing around the stage throughout his set as he sang his own original music from his debut EP, Famous, as well as covers of some of his favorite country songs like Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire” which the entire crowd sang along to and Hank Williams’ “Jambalaya (On the Bayou),” “Hey Good Lookin’” and of course the song everyone was there to see his cover, the song that launch his viral fame, “Lovesick Blues.” Ramsey even gave the crowd a taste of his debut EP, singing his original single “Yo Da Lady Who” from the EP. Ending out his set with a massive sing-a-long to his debut original single “Famous” which is the title track to his debut EP and was penned by Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, Corey Crowder, Canaan Smith, and Sarah Buxton. Ramsey definitely lived up to the hype that fills the internet this evening with a great stage presence, amazing vocals live, and very entertaining and interactive with the sold out crowd.

Chris Lane then grasping the sold out crowds attention as he bursted onto the stage to his first No. 1 single “Fix” from his debut studio album, Girl Problems. Lane’s set started immediately with a very high energy performance of his 2014 debut single “Broken Windshield View,” which the crowd knew every word too but they also showcased their loyalty to Lane as they knew every word to new songs from his latest album, Laps Around The Sun, as well like “Fishin’,” “Drunk People,” “Laps Around The Sun,” and of course the song that ignited the crowd into a deafening sing-a-long, to his latest single “I Don’t Know About You.” Lane’s setlist was the perfect blend of songs from his chart-topping sophomore album, Laps Around The Sun (via Big Loud Records), his debut studio album, Girl Problems, and even his debut EP, Fix, along with the extraordinary list of covers Lane performed live including the mashup of Blink-182’s “All The Small Things” with Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” and of course the fan-favorite and Lane’s favorite cover song Mario’s “Let Me Love You.” There wasn’t a silent moment of Lane’s set as the crowd made sure to show their love for him as the sang along to each and every song within his hit packed setlist.

Lane even got the crowd involved by inviting a fan on stage to serenade her during “For Her,”, and also while Lane sang as he starred into the eyes of the fans on the barricade who grabbed hold of that special spot by getting there super early and waiting inline for hours to gain access to the front of the sold out venue. Lane inviting his identical twin brother Cory Lane on stage to sing a fabulous rendition of Brooks & Dunn’s “Red Dirt Road” and it was a moment that we won’t soon forget cause wow it was a mind-blowing experience as Chris Lane’s girlfriend Lauren Bushnell watches from side-stage. Chris Lane even giving the sold out crowd a throwback country experience singing some of country music’s biggest hits like Tracy Byrd’s “Watermelon Crawl,” Brooks & Dunn’s “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” and bringing Mason Ramsey back out on stage to assist with Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee” as Ramsey flossed as Lane was singing. Gabby Barrett joining Lane on stage to assist in ending his set with his newly crowned, first Platinum single “Take Back Home Girl” which originally features Tori Kelly but Barrett did a flawless job filling in for Tori Kelly. Overall, Chris Lane’s debut headlining set in Philadelphia on the Laps Around The Sun Tour was a breathtaking experience for all in attendance with some very memorable moments throughout the evening and with some impeccable talent supporting the tour including Mason Ramsey and Gabby Barrett who will both be headlining their own tours in no time.
