For a decade now, Charles Kelley has been the male anchor of Lady Antebellum, one of the most popular and very successful groups in country music who are currently on a brief hiatus as many of them have just has recent additions to their families. So it became as great time for also new dad, Charles Kelley to hit the road with his solo project CHARLES KELLEY. Although this wasn’t a show that was apart of his The Driver Tour and it was a 92.5 XTU Radio Charity Event called The 6 Man Jam which featured Charles Kelley (acoustic) as the headlining act on the lineup. Kelley owned his set and made the show his own as he stood out the most during the night and had the crowd moving and jamming along to his smooth soulful vocals which make up his latest chart topping album, The Driver which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Country 100 and was released via Capitol Records Nashville in February 2016. He performed several songs of this album like his newest single “Lonely Girl” which was mind-blowing, bass-heavy, country-funk song soulful song which got the entire crowd dancing along and singing very loudly as if the song has been out for months. Also performing title track of the album, “The Driver” which features Eric Paslay who was also present on the stage during this time for a sing along with the crowd.
Kelley’s Strong songwriting skills shine brightly in this album and that shows flawlessly in his performances as well. He is very passionate about what he is doing and that shows through the music, the lyrics, and his live performance grasp your attention even at a show like this one where it was 100% acoustic although he was moving around as if it was an electric show even interacting with the crowd jumping down upon the barricade to sing right with his biggest fans along the barricade. Kelley even performed a few Lady Antebellum song’s solo and they were huge crowd pleasers as almost if not all country fans love Lady Antebellum even if they claim they don’t with their infectious anthem filled tunes you’re guaranteed to be singing along. This also shows in Kelley’s new solo music they are very infectious sing along songs where you are instantly singing along to the lyrics even if you didn’t yet know them. A Huge crowd sing along to Lady Antebellum’s hit “Need You Now” one of their many of hit singles. Kelley’s extraordinary unique flawless vocals and his superb song writing skills, It is almost guaranteed his solo project will be just as successful as Lady Antebellum as his solo music is already climbing the country charts and making #1 hits on the radio.
