Underwood bringing along all of the glitz, glam and a visually stunning performance into the arena with a massive stage that was breathtaking, stretching across the entire length of the arena floor in the shape of an eye with fans filling the floor around and inside of the stage.
Bringing along a massive production for this already larger-than-life performance with the stage spanning the entire arena floor complete with fireworks, confetti, smoke, lasers, vibrant lighting and screens which when combined made for some visually stunning moments throughout the set. Underwood didn’t waste a single inch of the huge stage as she strutted around singing and interacting with fans throughout the set, belting out hit after hit song that only an artist like Underwood could do. Her powerful, effortless vocals are even more impressive live then they are on her records allowing her to shine as both a singer and entertainer which makes senses as to why Underwood is the only woman up for Entertainer Of The Year at the 2019 CMA Awards as there aren’t many other who can even compare to the show that Underwood delivers on this Cry Pretty Tour 360. Oh, and let us know forget about her impeccable wardrobe changes and flawless attire that included lots of sparkling dressed of a variety of different colors and styles which perfectly matched the sets production as we would say it was full of beauty and they didn’t miss a single detail.
Underwood’s pure talent, energy and her ability to keep an entire arena entertained for over 2 full hours, commanding their attention throughout the entire set was a force to be reckoned with.
Underwood recently celebrated 15 years since her American Idol audition and she reflected on that journey at the show saying, “I grew up in Oklahoma, and I always loved to sing and I always loved to sing country music. I always wanted to be a famous country music singer but I had no clue how that was gonna happen. One day some doors opened and I saw that they were having an American Idol auditions. And I asked my momma, Where’s Saint Louis? She’s like I don’t know that is like six or seven hours away. I was like I am not going to drive that far that’s crazy and she said if you want to go I’ll drive you. That was 15 years ago! I never thought in a million years that it would land me here with you guys in Philly with my band doing the one thing that I always wanted to do, So I just want to thank you guys.” Before taking fans on a journey down memory lane with some songs that Underwood doesn’t get to play often and some of her personal favorites which included a medley of older songs like “Temporary Home,” “See You Again,” “I Know You Won’t,” “Just A Dream” and then an extraordinary rendition of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” Her setlist didn’t stop there though it spanned throughout her entire catalog, mostly showcasing her latest record, Cry Pretty, but she didn’t forget to include her smash hits like “Church Bells,” “Blown Away,” “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Undo It,” and “Before He Cheats.”
Underwood brought along an all-female tour package with two all female acts opening the show which included the rising country trio, Runaway June, who performed songs like “Trouble With This Town,” “Head Over Heels” and closing with their smash hit “Buy My Own Drinks” from their debut album, Blue Roses. Next, was the female country duo, Maddie & Tae, who are preparing to release their EP, Everywhere I’m Goin’ which drops on October 18th. Maddie & Tae both strutted around the stage as if they were the headlining act fiercely charging through their songs like “Bathroom Floor,” “Die From a Broken Heart,” “Friends Don’t,” “Tourist In This Town” and many more. Both who showcased their amazing expertise to harmonize with each other perfectly even while working the stage and interacting with their fans in the crowd.
During Underwood’s performance she brought out her tour mates to celebrate woman in country music, and some very special iconic woman who have paved the way for country music paying tribute to them by singing their songs in a medley including artists like Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood, The Judds, Patsy Cline, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and more which fans adored and even roared along to each and every song.
Underwood closed the show with an encore performance of two of her most vocally stunning songs including “Cry Pretty” which when Underwood hits those high notes you get chills at how amazing her vocals are and how long she can hold a single note. Then finishing out the set with “Love Wins” an empowerment anthem to all. Underwood is definitely one of the best female vocalists in all of music right now with her exceptional strengths and ranges that we seriously recommend that you do not miss a show on this tour and any of her tours to come as she is destined to be one of the best entertainers on the road right now.
