Carrie Underwood shined vibrantly the other night at the 53rd Annual ACM Awards with the live debut of her album title track, “Cry Pretty,” ending her incredibly emotional performance with a roaring standing ovation from everyone in attendance leaving her in tears from being overjoyed. She co-wrote her lead single, “Cry Pretty” with Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and she also co-produced the entire record with David Garcia.

“At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever,” Underwood said in a statement. “I think you can hear that in this new album. It’s emotional, it’s soulful, it’s real, and we also have some fun on there, too. I hope everyone loves it as much as I have loved making it.”

“There’s so much love and care and heart that has gone into writing these songs and putting music to these songs and everything has been done in such a careful and loving way,” Underwood said. “Everybody brought it,” Underwood Continued, “I’m so proud of my new album Cry Pretty and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”

In addition to her album announcement, a behind-the-scenes video was released on the making of the new album, Cry Pretty. Throughout the video, Underwood talks about working with both familiar faces and new writers and musicians on the project. Popular Nashville producer, singer, songwriter Brett James is easy to spot as well as singer/songwriter Dave Barnes.

Cry Pretty will arrive on September 14th. Cry Pretty is Underwood’s first new album since her Storyteller project that was released in 2015.
