As part of the Franklin, TN community, Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline Bryan are teaming up with The Williamson Medical Center Foundation to assist in the $25 million “More for You. Close to Home” campaign, their largest to date. The efforts of this project will go towards renovating and expanding the Williamson Medical Center in order to provide the highest quality healthcare possible for Williamson County and the surrounding communities.
In their roles, Caroline will serve as co-chair and Luke as an honorary co-chair. Their main duties will include being “featured in campaign materials, assist in fundraising events and provide additional support.” Caroline shared that her and her husband are quite familiar with the local hospital from delivering two of her kids there and having to rush over in emergency visits. Because of this, they are “proud” to have the chance to help the healthcare workers that have provided help for their family over the years.
“When we moved to Franklin, being close to a hospital was one of our priorities for location, and we ended up less than five minutes from Williamson Medical Center,” said Caroline Bryan. “Since then, we’ve had two children born there, made multiple trips to the ER and have established relationships with doctors and other staff. Having the best possible healthcare close by is important for our entire community, and Luke and I are proud to team up with Vicki and the Williamson Medical Center Foundation to lend a hand.”
Luke Bryan added, “Williamson Medical Center has been a natural fit for us. The doctors and nurses have always taken great care of our family with a personal touch that makes us feel comfortable and welcome. You don’t realize how much you lean on your local hospital until you need them, and we have peace of mind knowing that there’s a world-class hospital close to home.”
In the video captured by team members of the Williamson Medical Center, Caroline and Luke were taken on a tour through the center to meet staff members and learn about the many different ways they provide help to their communities.
“Thanks for all y’all are doing,” Luke said to several staff members.
Several of the renovations that will be put in place to make the medical center look and feel new and improved include:
- Expanding capacity in WMC’s Adult ER from 28 beds to 43, along with the addition of a behavioral health pod,
- Expanding Obstetrics from 28 beds to 34, which includes creating separate rooms for labor/delivery and postpartum patients, adding an additional operating room for C-sections and reconfiguring the NICU to include 9 private bays,
- Adding additional floors to the West Tower and renovating current floors to add a 22-bed observation unit as well as increased capacity in ICU/Stepdown and Medical/Surgical units,
- Renovating patient rooms in the Main Tower to create more space for patients and their families.
This major project that is expected to cost $189 million, is set to begin next month and be completed by 2024. According to Williamson Source, “The Foundation’s capital campaign will help supplement the $150 million in bond financing secured from the county to fund the project.”
