Camila Cabello brought her highly successful, sold out ‘Never Be The Same Tour‘ into The Fillmore Philadelphia for an evening full of talent, great choreography, fan interactions, and a powerful performance that will resonate with Cabello fans for a longtime to come. This being her first solo headlining performance in Philadelphia, she definitely showcased her exceptional vocals and proved that she is the definition of a star. The very long line that fans waited in to enter the venue snaked around the entire venue, of dedicated fans wanting to grab a closer spot.

Camila Cabello launched her set with a captivating performance of the tour’s Platinum title track, “Never Be The Same,” in which she hit every note perfectly including the high falsetto during the chorus of the song, sounding even better live then she does on the record. “Never Be The Same” being a single off of her Platinum debut album, Camila, that shot straight to No. 1 upon its release, which Cabello is touring in support of on this trek. Performing her debut album in its entirety during her 90-minute set even including her Machine Gun Kelly collaboration “Bad Things” which launched her solo career. Cabello shined vibrantly with her stunning outfit and her talent and without a doubt is very confident and comfortable performing to sold out crowds as she sparkled in the spotlight in Philadelphia.

Cabello’s stage production was nothing short of breathtaking, with a flawlessly built production complete with male and female dancers who danced perfectly in sync with Cabello throughout her entire set. Although, in size the performance was performed within a theater that holds 2,500 fans, with her extraordinary production including video interludes which helped Cabello tell her story between songs, and fog that blanketed the stage floor, her perfectly put together set was more of an arena level performance, which is a great sign for her as she is ready for her stadium tour this summer where she will supporting Taylor Swift on her Reputation tour, not to mention this will most likely be the first and last time you will be seeing Cabello perform small theaters, next she will be headlining arenas with her exceptional showmanship which grasped her fans attention for the entire 16-song set.

“Love will tell you to fight for your dreams”

Cabello’s song which originally was about toxic relationships, took on a whole new meaning this evening in Philadelphia as she made a very important statement incorporating visuals of all kinds of important movements including female empowerment, politics, immigration rights, same sex marriage, March For Our Lives, and more. Then, going into a song called “Scar Tissue” that unfortunately did not make her debut album, Cabello told the fans that the song “is part of my story, Scar Tissue is the skin that grows on top of skin that’s been burned or hurt, and it’s the body’s way of healing.” Encouraging fans to be kind and patient with not only each other but themselves, she used the moment as a way to connect directly with her fans.

As if we didn’t already know how incredible Cabello’s vocals really are, she shined with her very powerful voice that was definitley showcased throughout her set but was really able to shine during her performance of “In The Dark,” as she told the crowd to be quiet and Cabello started to sing a note off the mic a capella which could be heard throughout the entire venue, beginning low as she built up to her highest range and then soaring back onto the microphone to finish out the song. Telling the sold out Philadelphia crowd “this was the first show where the whisper thing worked!” Continuing to power through her set going to her  autobiographical song next, “Real Friends,” where Cabello actually brought some lucky fans on stage to perform the song with her.

Other highlights during Cabello sold out performance would definitley include: Her outstanding performance of her Pharrell Williams collab of “Sangria Wine,” with a beyond impeccable dance routine being showcased during the song. The breathtaking performance of her catchy chorus “Inside Out,” and her cover of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” in which she completed and told the crowd “This has been an emotional day, Then I came out here and saw you guys singing all of the words to my songs, You make me feel like I have superpowers.” after telling the crowd how she got to see Avengers: Infinity Wars the day prior on her day off. Her haunted showcase of “Crown,” which seen dancers running throughout the stage, not to mention her mind-blowing “Know No Better” Major Lazer collab. And of course her performance of “Havana” which was done in front of a bright orange sunrise that heated up the room even more.

The “Never Be The Same” Tour is the showcase of Cabello’s bold, gleaming, easy-going and sultry personality, spotlighting her powerhouse vocals, her style, and her vibrant Latin-inspired hits, not to mention proving that she is the new definition of pop star. The smile didn’t leave Cabello’s face throughout her entire performance, and she couldn’t stop thanking the fans for all of their support and for the success that they have allowed her to achieve. The only thing we missed that we wished was included in her set was her songs “Cryin’ In The Club” and “OMG.” Make sure you get out to see Camila Cabello on her debut solo tour, and this summer while she tours throughout the U.S. with Taylor Swift on her Reputation Stadium Tour.
