CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Brett Young releases “Hell Yeah, Damn Right (Ole Miss Tribute)” to all digital partners today, paying homage to his alma mater University of Mississippi, where Young pitched for the Rebels’ baseball team. Inspired by the school’s popular game-day chant, the upbeat, anthemic track captures the electrifying spirit of an Ole Miss game day. The song was originally played on campus and around the town of Oxford, MS, but due to high demand, Young decided to make it available to fans everywhere digitally.
“My time at Ole Miss was so much fun and so impactful,” Young said. “I wanted to write a song to commemorate the game day experience in Oxford and in The Grove.”
The “Ace Songwriter” (Entertainment Weekly) is set to launch his debut headlining CALIVILLE TOUR next weekend, October 14 in Charlottesville, VA with breakout female vocalist Carly Pearce following his run on Lady Antebellum’s YOU LOOK GOOD WORLD TOUR.
Brett Young’s GOLD-certified self-titled debut (BMLG Records) continues to make a big impression. His latest offering “Like I Loved You” is skyrocketing up the radio charts as it recently entered the Top 25 on the Billboard and Mediabase Country Airplay charts. The single follows back-to-back No. 1 smashes, including the PLATINUM-certified “Sleep Without You” and 2X PLATINUM “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “one of this year’s most impressive pop songs.” (New York Times) “Young is quickly becoming one of country music’s most reliable new hit makers…” (The Tennessean) and the industry is noticing with ACM Award, Teen Choice Award, CMT Music Awards, CMA Award and AIMP Award nominations.
