On Tuesday (April 30), Just ahead of the 2019 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) in Las Vegas, NV, Brendon Urie received the key to the City, in recognition of his outstanding achievements within music. The key was presented to Urie by Las Vegas Commissioner, Jim Gibson. This comes before Panic! At The Disco are set to perform “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” on the BBMAs tonight as well as Urie being included within the opening performance with Taylor Swift for their collaborative song “ME!”

Urie’s Las Vegas roots are highly present throughout his career from Panic! At The Disco’s single “Vegas Lights,” to a countless amount of photo shoots and music video being captured in Vegas to recording the bands GRAMMY-nominated album, Pretty Odd, in Vegas. Not to mention that the Las Vegas Golden Knights currently use Panic! At The Disco’s song “Vegas Lights” as their goal song.

Brendon Urie also is giving back to his community with his Highest Hopes Foundation which partners with State Farm and the Boys & Gils Club of Southern Nevada, the foundation plan is to build a Youth Notes for Notes recording studio for local kids, which is actually expected to open later in the year (2019).

Urie joins artists like Elvis Presley, Madonna and Britney Spears who received this honor before him. The 2019 Billboard Music Awards are airing tonight on NBC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1 at 8pm EST. Make sure you tune in as you do not want to miss Urie and Swift or Panic! At The Disco’s epic performances!
