Lainey Wilson will no longer be performing in Iowa this weekend.

On Wednesday morning (July 27), the “Things A Man Oughta Know” singer took to social media to share a statement with fans, revealing her reason for the last minute cancelation.

“Due to a family emergency, I’m unable to play this weekend’s shows in Maquoketa, IA and Arnold Park, IA,” the statement began.

Wilson went on to apologize to fans before asking them to keep her family in their prayers.

“I’m so sorry to cancel last minute, but please trust I would not be backing out if it weren’t critical. Please keep my family in your prayers,” Wilson concluded.

The two shows effected include her concert at Jackson County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 30 in Maquoketa, IA as well as her show at Captain’s Getaway in Arnolds Park, IA on Sunday, July 31.

Wilson is currently in the midst of serving as support on Jon Pardi’s headlining Ain’t Always The Cowboy Tour.

Earlier this year, the reigning ACM New Female Artist Of The Year earned her second No. 1 hit with “Never Say Never,” a duet alongside Cole Swindell. “Never Say Never” follows her first-ever chart-topping hit “Things A Man Oughta Know.”

Wilson recently released “Heart Like A Truck,” which will serve as the lead single to her highly-anticipated, yet-to-be announced sophomore project.

Additionally, the fast-rising country star scored a role as a musician on season five of Paramount’s western drama, Yellowstone.

The “Heart Like A Truck” singer confirmed the news during a recent interview with SiriusXM’s The Highway.

“I am honestly, this is the first time I’ve said it out loud,” Wilson shared of her role on the popular series created by Taylor Sheridan. “So this is my first interview since we announced. This is the first time I’m sayin’ it, I’m gonna be a co-star on season five of Yellowstone.”

Wilson then went on to share how she landed a co-starring role on the show.

“Taylor Sheridan, the writer and producer of the show called me back in February, and was like, ‘I’m creating a character specifically for you.’ And I’m like, ‘thank you, God and thank you, Taylor Sheridan.’ It’s a blessing,” Wilson gushed of the opportunity. Wilson will play a musician named Abby on Yellowstone and will get to “play [her] songs” during the appearance, she also shared, saying it was the “perfect” role for her.

Lainey Wilson’s next scheduled tour date is slated to take place on August 4 at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA on Jon Pardi’s Ain’t Always The Cowboy Tour.
