Bonnaroo Organizers Forced To Cancel 2021 Festival Due To Floods & Outstanding Weather

The 2021 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee has been canceled!

The festival organizers shared the unfortunate news via social media on Tuesday (Aug. 31), just days before the event was originally scheduled to take place. Due to flooding and the outstanding weather caused by remnants of Hurricane Ida in Manchester, Tennessee, the festival was forced to pull the plug on the 2021 event.

“We are absolutely heartbroken to announce that we must cancel Bonnaroo,” a statement on the event’s Instagram read. “While this weekend’s weather looks outstanding, currently Centeroo is waterlogged in many areas, the ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely.”

The statement continued, “We have done everything in our power to try to keep the show moving forward, but Mother Nature has dealt us a tremendous amount of rain over the past 24 hours, and we have run out of options to try to make the event happen safely and in a way that lives up to the Bonnaroo experience.”

Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Tame Impala, Tyler The Creator, Leon Bridges, Young The Giant, G-Eazy, Incubus, Young Thug, Jack Harlow, Run The Jewels, The Grand Ole Opry, Glass Animals, Brittany Howard and many more were scheduled to perform at this year’s four-night event in Tennessee.

Bonnaroo has not taken place since 2019 as the festival’s 2020 edition was first postponed in mid-March and then canceled in June 2020 due to the global health crisis.

All tickets purchased through Front Gate Tickets will be refunded in 30 days or less to the original method of payment.
