“Bohemian Rhapsody” is the presales champion of this year’s movie musicals to date, outpacing both Bradley Cooper’s “A Star is Born” and “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again” at the same point in the Fandango sales cycle. “Bohemian” is scoring 87 out of 100 points on Fandango’s movie buzz index, Fanticipation.

“There’s a big appetite for music-driven movies right now, and that’s definitely part of what’s fueling the high advance ticket sales for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “The popularity of Queen’s music and the buzz on Rami Malek’s exceptional performance as Freddie Mercury makes it one of the year’s can’t-miss movies.”

According to a survey of more than 1,000 “Bohemian” moviegoers:

  • 94% are Queen fans.
  • 93% can’t wait to see Rami Malek’s performance as Freddie Mercury.
  • 70% are fans of movie musicals on the big screen.

On the home entertainment front, the top new movies available on digital, according to FandangoNOW, are as follows:
