Blue October’s frontman Justin Furstenfeld brought ‘The Open Book Tour’, An Acoustic Evening with Justin Furstenfeld to the Sold Out World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA lastnight (Jan. 26th).

The evening brought a unique way for Furstenfeld to break down the barrier between him and his fans to connect with them closer than ever before while giving fans a transparent look into his life, his mistakes, victories, and troubles throughout his life from childhood to more recently. It was incredible to see how open Furstenfeld is willing to be with his fans about his life’s deepest stories, which was very enlightening and uplifting for the fans who had the opportunity to score a ticket to the sold out show. His story, very inspiring with his tremendous passion for music while getting through life’s hardest struggles which can hear in his songs. Furstenfeld included his darkest, deepest, most difficult moments in his life detailing them moments in a very descriptive storytelling unique way.

Furstenfeld brought more than just his incredible storytelling skills to the stage. He brought his incredibly powerful stage presence with him as well. His powerful stage presence shined brightly even with just himself and an acoustic guitar while belting out his heart-string pulling lyrics after telling the story behind the song he was performing next. This performance highlighting his very unique, signature voice which shined vibrantly while fitting the songs into the perfect spots of his story. Furstenfeld proved that second chances are possible, you just have to earn them overtime.

Fans shouting their support to Furstenfeld on stage throughout the set saying things like “I Love You Justin,” “We Love You Justin,” “Justin F–king Furstenfeld,” and “Hell Yeah Justin!” This performance very intimate as he was able to speak without his microphone and fans could still hear him, in which allowed for personalized conversations with fans who he could hear and respond to.
