blink-182 celebrate the release of their new album "California" at Good Morning America in New York City

Today, blink-182 celebrated the release of their seventh studio album, California which also happens to usually be the 182nd day of year but due to the leap year it is actually the 183rd. Celebrating in style with an incredible show on ABC’s Good Morning America in New York City’s Central Park. California (produced by John Feldmann) is blink-182’s first album without guitarist/co-vocalist Tom DeLonge, filling his place with frontman of Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba. California is the followup album of their sixth studio album Neighborhoods which was put out in 2011. Although there are a lot of mixed reviews online about their new album, I think that the five year wait for a new record was totally worth it after listening to it in full. California features many surprises, twists and turns like: Travis Barker’s 10-year-old daughter makes an appearance on the album, and songs like “Brohemian Rhapsody” suggest a return to their early sound, and a lot of the album sounds similar to Barker and Hoppus’ side project +44. California is currently #1 across 28 countries on iTunes as it debuts today as Travis Barker states on his Instagram. blink-182 earned their third #1 single on the airplay-based chart (dated July 9th, 2016) and its first in over 12 years with California’s lead single, “Bored to Death.” Also, the new #1 single isn’t the only big achievement for blink-182 this week. “Bored to Death” also moves up two spots to #9 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart, which makes it the band’s first song ever to reach that airplay chart’s top 10, dating back to its first title, Dammit, in 1998.

Their live show today on ABC’s Good Morning America was one for the books, Playing their hit singles such as “What’s My Age Again,” “All The Small Things,” “Feeling This,” and “Rock Show,” as well as their latest single that currently dominates the Billboard charts. However a few of these songs weren’t televised. Definitley a great way to release a great album, playing a show in front of nearly three thousand people on Good Morning America. You can see blink-182 out on tour this summer with A Day To Remember, All Time Low, All American Rejects, & DJ Spider which is starting next week. Stream California now. Get your tickets now:
