Blake Shelton has a new hobby that he is sharing with his wife Gwen Stefani. The “Happy Anywhere” duet partners have taken up a side interest in foraging, which means they spend time together outside searching for wild, edible mushrooms to add to their meals.

Stefani, 53, recently took to Instagram to document the lovebird’s latest date, which sees them embracing their outdoor lifestyle near his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. This excursion finds the loving couple bonding outside of Shelton’s property in his home state while collecting food sources in the wild.

And by the looks of it, Shelton and Stefani have found a pretty hefty load of fungi during their journey through the woods.

“What?” a shocked Stefani says in the clip at the number of mushrooms she and Shelton discover together.

“You better Instagram this,” Shelton, 46, teases his pop superstar bride before he calls the couple’s dog to come to him. “There are so many mushrooms around us right now that I’ve never even seen anything like this.”

Hoping to find some mushrooms of her own, Stefani jokes, “Stop. Okay, watch me not be able to find them.”

The “Just a Girl” singer then strolls the surface of the ground, and quickly notices a plethora of fungi.

“Oh my gosh, Blake! They’re everywhere,” Stefani exclaims. “I mean, Oh my gosh!”

Blake Cooked And Ate The Mushrooms They Found

A fungus expert to some degree, Shelton was also on hand to answer Stefani’s questions, like whether or not the mushrooms were “overgrown” and what he planned on doing with them after gathering a bag full of fungi.

As Shelton and Stefani roam their property, they continue to collect mushrooms, finding large and small ones. Shelton also shows his soft side as he trims a tree adorned with purple wildflowers to decorate the pair’s kitchen table. Once the two head back to their ranch, they begin to fry the mushrooms, turning the wild fungi into a tasty treat.

Shelton has proven to have become somewhat of a fungus connoisseur over the years. Recently, the country crooner took pride in finding, frying, and eating a lion’s mane mushroom. He also announced on an episode of The Voice that he was a member of the “Wild Mushroom Enthusiasts of Oklahoma,” proudly proclaiming his title to John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Nick Jonas.

Seeing Shelton and Stefani spending countless hours in the middle of the country is a stark contrast from what many fans picture the pair to be like. But, it’s no question they have gotten accustomed to the quaint lifestyle of the outdoors in Oklahoma, as both artists have often shared similar posts of their countryside outings and relationship on their respective social media pages.

Working On His Farm And Being A Stepfather To Stefani’s Kids

In addition, Shelton will be parting ways with The Voice after the current season. So fans can expect to see him taking up a bit of a settled-down persona as stepfather to Stefani’s sons, Kingston, 16, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 9. He has been doing more upkeep and work on his property too.

Earlier this year, the “No Body” singer was seen driving around on his farm in a tractor and getting ready for corn season.

“It’s early April, there is absolutely no frost in the forecast,” Shelton said in an Instagram clip at the time. “That means, it’s corn time, baby!”

Shelton and Stefani met on the set of The Voice and have been together since 2015. They tied the knot in the summer of 2021 and have released duets like “Nobody Like You” and “Happy Anywhere.”

And folks can still catch Shelton as a coach on The Voice before he says farewell to the franchise after a 12-year run. The Voice airs Monday nights at 7:00 CT on NBC.
