Blake Red Releases Music Video for “Follow Me”

Blake Red is a rock musician who finds her strengths in vulnerability and her salvation through music. With her platform. she is determined to create songs that combine her passions as a musician while being a mental health advocate. She is not afraid to tell her story and talk about the struggles of depression and anxiety.

Earlier this year, she told her fans via social-media that she had taken crucial measures to protect her mental health. She self-admitted to a semi-hospitalization program, engaging in treatment five days a week, in an effort to get the help she so urgently needed. Based on her personal experiences, Blake Red’s music highlights her own survival and inspires others to keep fighting to get better, with lyrics like, “I dreamt of taking you away / I wish my mind would just obey,” and “I hide my face from any light / You’re my biggest sacrifice.”

Her new single and music video, “Follow Me”, reflects on the mistakes she made and her search for redemption. The track tells the story of her battle with anxiety, depression, and substance use. Compared to her heavier rock sound, this song is stripped back and allows for her raw and vulnerable vocals to shine.
