Black Reuss is a heavy metal artist with a touch of melancholy and heaviness, consisting of Maurizio Dottore. He is the person behind Black Reuss, creating the music, compositions, production, and lyrics.
The dark, existential emotions expressed in this Liechtenstein-based musician can be found on his candid, raw, and unfiltered first album, Metamorphosis, as well as in his latest single, “ANGER.”
Maurizio’s stage name even means something special. The name originates from the river Reuss, a Swiss river that rises in the Gotthard massif in the middle of Switzerland, where the he lived when writing Metamorphosis.
With the music being released on his own label, Black Reuss was able to freely express the messages that he wanted, such as the transformation of a man who is between worlds and nowhere really at home.
When hearing the song “ANGER,” listeners will discover the struggles that the man goes through. Although the music is based on a specific character, anyone can relate, with lyrics like, “The blood pumps furiously though my veins / frustration and stress still set the tone / anger clouds my senses leading to damnation,” and “I miss the power to control it / I let it be / Although I know this is not the way.”
Throughout the song the man encounters his transformation, learning what mindsets he should take with him, and what he should leave behind.
