Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s record-breaking single “Meant To Be” continues to be a fan-favorite, as the chart-topping, infectious hit has earned Diamond certification in the United States.
As the song continues to flood radio stations across the globe, The Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) confirmed the certification on Monday (Aug. 17), signifying 10 million U.S. equivalent Units sold, with each equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
“Meant To Be” spent 50 weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. The music video for the track has amassed 927 million views since its release, nearing almost a billion views. The mega-hit was even nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
The track is from Rexha’s third EP, All Your Fault: Pt. 2 and then was later included in her debut studio album, Expectations, which was released in 2018.
The song marks Rexha’s first career Diamond hit. “Meant To Be” follows FGL’s smash hit “Cruise” as the second Diamond-certified hit for Florida Georgia Line.
This achievement is very notable as only 34 songs in history have been certified diamond by the RIAA.
