After having a chance to check out the sophomore album, WP2, from Seattle rockers Walking Papers, we can’t help but fall in love even more with this band!  The sound is refreshing and very reminiscent that down and dirty rock n’ roll sound from years past, reminding us once again what is missing from the current state of the rock scene.

Walking Papers, featuring singer/songwriter Jefferson Angell, keyboardist/backing vocalist Benjamin Anderson (both from The Missionary Position), bassist Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), and drummer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), provide us with just what we are looking for in  solid rock n’ roll album. They flawlessly blend together elements of grunge, blues and good ol’ fashioned classic rock to bring us a sound that is unique to themselves and certainly music to our ears.

We truly enjoyed tracks such as album opener “My Luck Pushed Back” and delving into the band’s more emotional side on track such as “Red & White” and “Don’t Owe Me Nothin’” before taking things up a notch again with “Somebody Else” and “Hard To Look Away”.

Being that we enjoyed the album so much, we can’t wait to see Walking Papers at a live show and we are in luck because the band is currently out on the road with Myles Kennedy and playing some select headlining dates through the end of the year. The band just returned from a European tour where they played to packed houses in the UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Norway, and Denmark.

Sadly, due to previous commitments Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin will not be along for these dates. Instead, Angell and Anderson will be joined by fellow Seattle musicians Tristan Hart Pierce (guitar), Dan Spalding (bass, upright bass and baritone saxophone), Will Andrews (drums), and Gregor Lothian (saxophone).

Walking Papers released WP2, their second album with Loud & Proud Records and the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2013 release, on January 19, 2018. Fans of Walking Papers can go to their PledgeMusic page HERE to find exclusive offers for merchandise, unique items, and This Is How It Ends, a comic book written by Angell, graphic novelist Matt Hayward, and illustrated by Csaba Master.
