During the show, Cooke and Young will deliver an intimate performance of their romantic duet, “Never Til Now,” for the newest Bachelorettes, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey.
“Getting to make my TV debut is unbelievably exciting in general… but especially getting to debut on The Bachelorette!” Cooke shared ahead of the performance. “It was so fun to get to marry the two worlds of TV and music and to do it all with my friend and duet partner, Brett Young.”
Cooke went on to thank listeners for their unwavering support of her and Young’s duet.
“It’s been incredible to see how my song “Never Til Now” has resonated with so many people in every phase of love whether they’ve found their person or they’re manifesting it through these lyrics,” Cooke continued. “It’s an honor to get to be the voice behind the story and to get to be a small part of Rachel and Gabby’s journey to finding love.”
The Big Loud records signee first teased the performance via TikTok on July 12, sharing a video of her with a rose that she captioned, “can you guess what huge TV show I’m about to perform on?”

While this performance marks Cooke’s first televised performance, Young previously performed on The Bachelorette in 2019, where he serenaded Colton Underwood and Caelynn on their magical date, performing his single “Here Tonight.”

Cooke wrote “Never Til Now” as a solo song for her debut EP, Already Drank That Beer, which was released in April 2021, however she admits that she always envisioned the song as a duet.
“I wrote and recorded ‘Never Til Now’ back during the pandemic with my friend Matt Roy, who also wrote ‘Run’ for Chris Janson,” Cooke began to explain. “We put the song out and people seemed to really love it, but it wasn’t until I posted a TikTok that the song just completely blew up and went viral.”
She continued, “It was absolutely crazy how it all happened and I love the song and people seem to love this song so much that I figured I’d give people a duet of the song because it’s about a relationship. It’s a two-way song about love and being in love with somebody. So, my producer and I were trying to think of cool people who would be great on the song and Brett Young came to mind and my producer reached out to him and Brett said ‘hell yeah’ and hopped on the song and it is what it is today.”
Upon release, “Never Til Now” was most-added at Country radio and Cooke says after doing a “grueling radio tour” seeing that achievement was the “biggest pay off.”
“It’s crazy because as a young artist and as a country artist, especially, going to radio is a massive honor. Everybody wants to do that because Country radio is still so important in our genre,” Cooke added. “My very first add day, my very first song going to radio. Number one most-added, I was like ‘what is happening?’ So, it’s really cool and I’m just honestly blessed that people like the song enough to want to add it and to believe in a new artist and their very first song going to Country radio.”

Ashley Cooke and Brett Young’s performance airs on Monday, July 18 at 8/7c on ABC during Season 19 of The Bachelorette.
