Andrew Jannakos Shares Long-Awaited Track “Heaven’s Like A Hometown,” His First Release Since 2021 EP

Rising artist Andrew Jannakos recently shared his highly-anticipated track “Heaven’s Like A Hometown.” Listen to the new single here.

Co-penned by Jannakos with Eric Aries, Matthew McGinn and Jordan Minton, “Heaven’s Like A Hometown,” “is a song about hoping all your favorite people and things from your hometown are in Heaven when you get there, like Friday night football, fishing at my honey holes with my grandpa who has passed, and going to the Texaco with my buddies,” said Jannakos.

“I hope heaven’s like a hometown / You can roll ’round / And all the streets of gold got a little bit of dirt on ’em / I hope it’s just a quick ten to my momma’s house / Every country mile’s got a little white church on ’em / I ain’t ready to go, but when he calls me home to that map dot up in the clouds / I hope heaven’s like a hometown.”

Jannakos’ newest track is the singer’s first release since his Gone Too Soon EP last year. The project’s title track has accumulated more than 85 million on-demand streams and secured a #1 debut on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart. The song also earned the #12 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

The Georgia native was born and raised in a musical family. When embarking on his own journey, Jannakos was inspired by his grandfather, as well as Shania Twain.

“My grandfather played in a bluegrass band for years and years in Georgia,” shared Jannakos. “So I was raised on country: Waylon, Hank, Whitley, Brooks & Dunn. My earliest memories of singing were in the car going to elementary school, when my mom and I would just belt Shania Twain the whole way there.”

As Jannakos grew as an artist, he began to incorporate elements from vocal influences including Eminem and NSYNC. When a recruiter for NBC’s The Voice saw one of his performances online, he knew Jannakos had something special and invited him to a private audition in Atlanta, GA.

The TikTok sensation wowed the judges on season 16 of The Voice with his stunning rendition of Luke Combs’ “Beautiful Crazy,” making judges Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson hit their buttons for the 25-year-old. Jannakos joined Team Adam, excelling during each performance until he was eliminated during the battle rounds.

Riding the high from The Voice, Jannakos continued to write and pursue his artistry until he hit it big on TikTok with a preview of his track “Gone Too Soon,” posted on July 26, 2020. The video went viral overnight, securing 250,000 likes and gaining Jannakos 125,000 followers by the morning.
