Alkaline Trio has been forced to cancel their upcoming performance at the San Bernardino Self Help Festival in California this weekend due to frontman Matt Skiba’s recovery from throat surgery that is “not healing as quickly as planned and, per his doctor, he can’t perform,” the band state on their social media.

Alkaline Trio said, “Throughout our career we’ve been fortunate to only cancel a handful of shows and it’s not something we take lightly. Unfortunately, today we have to announce that we will not be playing Self Help Festival on Saturday. Matt’s recovery from throat surgery is not healing as quickly as planned and, per his doctor, he can’t perform. Everything went well, he just needs more time to heal so he can play many shows in the future. Thank you for understanding” regarding their forced cancellation at upcoming Self Help Festival.

Since Alkaline Trio is not able to perform Self Help Festival state that they will be “making sizable donations to the National Suicide Prevention Lifelife and the Crisis Text Line,” continuing to say that “It’s incredible to be able to use Self Help Fest to support the great work these organizations do.”

Self Help Festival is still going to go on as planned on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018.
