Alanis Sophia’s strong vocals earned her a golden ticket to Hollywood!
The Florida contestant, named after superstar Alanis Morissette, auditioned with Demi Lovato’s soaring ballad “Anyone.”
Following her jaw-dropping audition, Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry gave an ovation as they praised her vocal purity.
“You have just enough confidence, but you are also pure. Cause you really are selling both your voice, yourself, your story, all of it and you are doing it so well already and you don’t even know and guess what you don’t need to know it, it’s just natural,” Perry gushed.
“In the midst of all of this noise, is the the purity of your voice and your personality that requires nothing but exactly who you are,” Richie said. “And I was enjoying the simplicity of your craft and I think you have huge potential, I enjoyed it.”
“You just walked out here and just sang and it was real and it was honest and it felt awesome to watch,” Bryan added.
