Aj McLean shaved his beard off and is nearly unrecognizable in a new photo.
The Backstreet Boys’ singer took to social media on Friday (Nov. 19) to let fans know that he is finishing up a project that he is so excited about.
“Finishing up a project that I’ve loved being a part of so much, had the best time ever!,” McLean captioned the new photo on Instagram.
While McLean didn’t elaborate on what the “project” is, fans are guessing and hoping that he is joining the Dancing With The Stars’ finale on Monday (Nov. 22) or potentially his new solo album. As before sharing the new photo, McLean shared a video, also without a beard, letting fans know that “something really big has come up for me this coming Monday.”
“Something super exciting is happening this Monday, but my lips are sealed!!” the caption said.
McLean didn’t share what the “really big” thing that has come up for him is, however, it has forced him to postpone his Looped Live meet and greet back a week.
The meet and greet, which was originally set to take place on Monday (Nov. 22), will now take place one day after Thanksgiving on Friday (Nov. 26).
The chart-topping singer and Florida native shaved his beard just over three weeks ago, but promised fans that it will be back.
“Had to be done! Don’t worry, y’all. It will return in a month,” McLean caption a photo revealing his new look without facial hair.
Several fans are puzzled as to why he shaved off his beard, one fan asking, “TELL ME WHYY,” referencing the Backstreet Boys’ massive 1999 hit, “I Want It That Way.”
While another fan added, “If I see you on the streets, I wouldn’t recognize you.”
Earlier this year, McLean released his latest single “Love Song Love,” which is out everywhere now.
