The 2020 CMT Music Awards, originally scheduled to take place in Nashville on June 3 has been forced to rescheduled for October 14, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Our top priority this last month has been rebuilding our hometown of Nashville following the tornado and ensuring the safety of our fans, employees, artists and partners during the COVID-19 crisis,” CMT said in a press release. “As we look forward to celebrating country music’s biggest stars together with our community and viewers, we will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and local public health officials.”

This is not the only country music awards show that has been affected as the ACM Awards were also postponed to September due to the pandemic. Instead, the Academy Of Country Music will be hosting a 2-hour televised special ‘ACM Presents: Our Country,’ on Sunday (April 5) at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

The annual awards show takes place the Wednesday before the Thursday kick off of CMA Fest, which was also cancelled earlier this week.
